Hydrogen as an energy carrier serves a function analogous to that of electricity. It is the simplest, lightest and richest element in the universe. Therefore, it can be used as a universal energy carrier enabling the storage and supply of energy fuel. Due to this unique flexibility hydrogen can become the central integrator used in various propulsion systems.
The purpose of hydrogen technology
Hydrogen is the main energy source for our hybrid drive concept.
Benefits of the hydrogen drive
+ facilitating the implementation of the zero-emission economy concept:
- reduction of CO2 emissions
- no emissions of sulfur and nitrogen oxides (SOx and NOx)
+ ability of producing H2 using RES
+ high flexibility of hydrogen as an energy carrier
+ safe and non-toxic for users
+ high safety of hydrogen compared to liquid fuels
Vision and execution of a multi-fuel drive with the hydriogen cell
We are the authors of the project within which a prototype of an aluminium catamaran with a hybrid drive and a hydrogen cell will be developed

The concept of a multi-fuel catamaran
As a part of the project we are planning R&D works including the design and implementation of:
- The catamaran’s prototype and its equipment
- Adaptive energy management system (Battery Management System)
- Energy generation and conversion system as well as the drive system
Applied technologies are the part of a current trend of searching for new technical solutions for the development of environmentally friendly transport.

Multi-fuel drive technology
The multi-fuel system will be powered by the following energy sources:
- Hydrogen
- solar energy (RES)
- diesel fuel
- gas fuel (LPG)
All of these sources will energize a set of batteries which will store energy for:
- propelling the yacht (powering electric motors)
- powering other systems of the unit (equipment)
